Top 16 Adelaide Wedding Venues of 2023 & 2024

TOP 10 ADELAIDE WEDDING VENUES

Here it is, my list of the best Kickass Adelaide Wedding Venues for 2024.

When I say we’re truly spoilt in SA when it comes to hosting a wedding I 100% mean it and I’ll wrestle you if you think otherwise. The food & wine is world class and even better you don’t have to travel far out of the city to be in a whole new world. I honestly always feel so well looked after each time I visit all of the venues I’ll show you and that tells me one key thing. They take even better care of their paying guests. I’m just the photographer after all!

You may have a destination in mind already just from the idea of giving your guests an unforgettable weekend away in the premier regions like the Adelaide Hills or the Barossa Valley. Wherever you host, things are never far. Close enough for everyone to make it, but far enough away that your guests can leave their lives behind and commit themselves wholeheartedly to your day.

You might be asking yourself “Who is this guy making this list? Why listen to him?” Well, I’m a wedding photographer who works almost exclusively all over this state and have been a life long resident. I’m a part of wedding days from start to finish in all conditions and all seasons, all over Adelaide.
Frankly, I think I’m in the best position to make this list. For this exact reason, I also made a comprehensive guide to getting married in South Australia which you can check out here: Adelaide Wedding Guide

Now onto the venues!

1. The Manor Basket Range

Venue Capacity 10-180 guests

Location: Basket Range, Adelaide Hills (Click the link for map directions)

Vibe/Feel: elegant fine dining, Disney princess dreams, ethereal

No prizes for guessing this one. The Manor remains one of the most sought after wedding destinations in the Adelaide Hills and for good reason. Between the gardens and the castle, they cater to both small and large sized weddings. Ceremonies can either be held in front of their romantic chapel, out in the lush gardens in front of the castle itself or under their lovely terrace.

There is also no secret that one of the biggest reasons The Manor remains at the top is its impeccably curated castle complimented by delicately landscaped garden punctuated with majestic old trees that look amazing no matter what time of year you host your wedding there. The photo opportunities are absolutely endless here. From the moment you drive up into the grounds, you’ll quickly realise you will run out time long before you run out of locations.

They provide onsite accommodation in their 12 available rooms and also have a designated bridal suite. With Uraidla not too far away either, if the provided breakfast provisions don’t suit your taste, a quick drive will have you enjoying a sensational breakfast or a few morning drinks with your bridal party before the festivities of the day begin.

The rustic charm of The Manor changes it’s character year around so colourfully throughout the seasons and I can’t pick a favourite. You’ll love it year round.

Delivering incredible, memorable weddings is the primary purpose of this well run business.

Not wine, not the tasting room, not the hotel…Weddings. And it shows.

2. Alru Farm

Venue Capacity 10-300 guests

Location: 1/1016 One Tree Hill Rd, Sampson Flat SA 5114 (Click the link for map directions!)

Vibe/Feel:

This internationally known home, garden and pavillion has been featured in countless magazines, coffee table books and television specials. For good reason too. The unique garden hosts rose gardens, romantic woodlands, ponds and a lake. The photo ops are endless.

Private and exclusive, Al Ru Farm is ideal for couples who seek something a little bit extra for their wedding day. Oozing charm is a real strength of Al Ru; from the barn to marquees by the lake and beautifully curated lawns by the homestead, all are boasted and generously appointed with the finest fixtures and fittings.

The pavilion featuring French antiques, an open fire place and its own extensive gardens and terrace is the perfect place to stay the night before the wedding day and also start your honeymoon the day after.

Walking around Ruth’s beautiful property, you get a great sense of being inside a secret garden, with boundless photo opportunities at every turn.

If you would like to have your ceremony at the farm, they’ve got you covered there too. There are many beautiful options including the lawns in front of the estate, the hedge garden and many more.

Al Ru Farm is a top contender for best venue in Adelaide in my books and you’ll quickly realise why once you see it for yourself.

3. MARYBANK FARM

Venue Capacity: 80-100 guests

Location: 404 Montacute Road, Rostrevor (Click the link for map directions!)

Vibe/Feel:

If the idea of a typical wedding venue has never tickled your fancy, and you prefer an authentic, rustic country property (that’s not in the country) to make your wedding your own, you need to check out Marybank Farm. You get the freedoms and good vibes of a private property wedding with none of the hassle.

This stunning property is one of Adelaide’s oldest and still privately owned houses in South Australia. The 60- acre hills-facing property has some of the best views of the city and is quietly nestled in the foothills just 20 minutes from the Adelaide CBD.

Probably most well-known for its gorgeously restored historic barn, graced with a beautiful Banksia Rose framing the iconic doors, Marybank has a number of different available spaces for ceremonies and small receptions as well as award-winning accommodation for the newlyweds on the upper level.

A highlight for me has always been the quality of the food here too. With a heart for sharing food, Marybank has partnered up with Sprout Catering, lovingly run by Callum of Masterchef Australia fame, these guys love the way food brings people together and the creativity and quality on show is proof of that passion.

The Georgian architecture, romantic city views and the enthralling gardens will have you lost for words. This timeless property is one you’ll never regret booking and will undoubtedly steal a piece of your heart.

4. BRIN FARM

Venue Capacity: 10-150 guests

Location: 1764 Kangarilla Road, Kangarilla (Click the link for map directions!)

Vibe/Feel:

This secret hills property first and foremost is a well recognised horse stud, raising and breeding champion horses. Through an exclusive partnership, Venue has been able to negotiate access to six couples per year to this remarkable private estate.

Located in the Southern Adelaide Hills, east of Clarendon, Brin Farm is home to 18 beautiful horses, the gentlest of which are offered by arrangement for some special photo opportunities. My personal favourite is Angus, a incredible 12 year old black Friesian gelding with a long mane and gentle dark eyes.

You’ll be meeting Angus and the others on the property’s rich soils and gentle hills that overlook some of the finest meadows, hills and forests in the Fleurieu Peninsula.

The private homestead, wrapped by beautiful gardens backs onto an obscenely large turfed lawn which over looks the property and the surrounding hills. This area could easily accommodate a wedding of up to 200 guests with space for a marquee, outdoor dining and lawn games.

However, it has an understated air almost certainly brought by natural beauty that could allow an event of 60 to feel welcome and at home. The homestead’s large protected poolside outdoor area provides a great inclement weather provision and connects directly to two new poolside bathrooms available for the convenience of your guests. Fondly remember Black Beauty?

This property will bring your wildest wedding dreams to life ❤️

5. CORIOLE WINERY

Venue Capacity: 10-350 guests

Location: Coriole Vineyards (PO Box 9) 79 Chaffeys Road, McLaren Vale SA 5171 (Click the link for map directions!)

Vibe/Feel:

I get asked if I have a favourite winery a lot and it’s always so hard to choose just one, but Coriole is ALWAYS one of the first names that leaves my lips.

The chard of Coriole stems from the sweet old stone homestead and cellar door from the 1800s. Either side you’ll fine lush lawns perfect for enjoying a glass of wine on a warm summers day after hosting a wedding ceremony.

In fact one of these lawns boasts spectacular panoramic views overlooking the vines. You can even have a marquee reception on these lawns. There’s an intimate courtyard and cottage as well that leaves me with so many different places to play in when taking photos. The beautiful gardens are perfect for intimate portraits but it’s the sunsets at Coriole that always blow my mind!

Pink sky’s and that golden light as the sun drops into the distant sea beyond the backlit vines. It gets me excited just talking about it. I love shooting at Coriole when the sun gets low in the sky. It’s an actual dream! Nothing is ever too hard at Coriole either. My experience each and every time is fantastic and that’s all because of th hard working, warm, accomodating staff. They’re professional hosts.

They’ll feed you amazing food and it’s all paired with beautiful reds, tasty whites and the best Prosecco around. As day turns to night at Coriole, the restaurant that hosts the receptions opens up and out onto the paved courtyard and becomes the dancefloor of your dreams, situated under festoons and the twinkling Mclaren Vale stars.

It’s the stuff dreams are made of here at Coriole Weddings.
